I chose it. Deliberately. Because I believe that how you treat people shapes everything else in a business.


Not as a philosophy. As a fact.


I have seen it play out across manufacturing floors, hospitality groups, oil and gas operations, tech startups, and beauty retail. Across Canada, the UK, and the US. In businesses of ten people and businesses of ten thousand.


The ones that grow well, that retain great people, that navigate difficulty without losing their culture, they all have one thing in common.


They treat people like the roots they are.

I started ElleTree because I believe HR should be more than policies and problems. Real change happens when people feel seen, supported, and safe to grow.  


After 20+ years working inside businesses across Canada, the UK, and the US, I have seen what happens when the people side of a business is treated as an afterthought.  I have also seen the 'messy middle' where founders get buried in paperwork and lose the ability to lead with kindness.

 

That is why I developed Human Systems AI™. 


I wanted to give founders a way to stay 'Rooted' even as they scale. I use these tools not to replace the conversation, but to provide the clarity needed to have the right conversations. Technology should free you to spend less time managing folders and more time growing your people."

Why ElleTree Exists

A leader once told me I was too kind for HR.

I have thought about that moment many times since. Because it revealed something important about what HR had become in so many organisations. A function designed to protect the business from its people. A department associated with bad news, policy enforcement, and uncomfortable conversations nobody wanted to have.


That is not the HR I practise.


I believe kindness is not a liability in this work. It is the strategy. Kindness paired with clarity, preparation, and accountability is what builds businesses that last. It is what makes people want to stay. It is what turns a growing team into a genuine culture.


ElleTree exists because that belief deserved a home.

The Name

Elle comes from Michelle. Tree comes from what I believe.


A tree grows strong when its roots are nourished. 

The branches follow. 

The fruit follows.


A business works the same way. 


When people are properly valued, guided, and supported, everything else grows stronger. 


Culture. Performance. Leadership. Retention.


When the roots are neglected, the growth is always fragile. No matter how impressive it looks above the surface.


ElleTree exists to tend those roots.

The Experience

I have worked inside businesses that were scaling faster than their systems could keep up with.


Businesses navigating their first redundancy, their first HR crisis, their first manager who had no idea how to lead. Businesses where the founder was brilliant at what they built but quietly drowning in the people side of running it.


I have been the person in the room when those conversations happened. The one who asked the question nobody else was asking. The one who connected the people decision to the business decision.


One of the defining moments of my early career was working with The Body Shop and being inspired by Anita Roddick. Her belief that business could be a force for good, that profit and humanity were not opposites, shaped how I have approached this work ever since.


I think carefully, I show up consistently, and I work as a genuine partner to the founders I work with.

Kindness without backbone is softness. Backbone without kindness is fear. The two belong together. That is the ElleTree Way.

How I Work

I do not do corporate HR. I do not hand you a binder and disappear. I do not manage your people so you do not have to.


What I do is work alongside you as a thinking partner who knows your business and genuinely cares about what you are building.
